About Me

Experienced, Supportive, and Student-Focused

I’m Amy Bettner, a math tutor with 21 years of tutoring experience and 18 years of classroom teaching from 5th grade through high school. I specialize in helping students who feel stuck in math gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Butler University and a master’s degree in Math Education from Western Governors University. My background gives me the tools to support a wide range of learners, from those needing to rebuild foundational skills to those ready to push ahead.

A Personal, One-on-One Approach

I love working one-on-one with students. Helping them see that math isn’t something to fear - but something they can understand - is at the heart of what I do.

One of my favorite parts of tutoring is watching students have those “aha” moments when a tough concept finally makes sense. Helping students connect math to the real world and discover their own learning style is what drives my work.

Try a Free 30-Minute Session

I offer a free 30-minute tutoring session to help you and your student get to know me, ask questions, and talk through what kind of support they’re looking for - no pressure or commitment. It’s a great way to see if we’re a good fit.

A Little More About Me

I’m also a proud mom of two adult children and a lifelong dog lover. I’ve rescued five dogs and counting! Whether I’m helping a student or caring for animals, I lead with patience, encouragement, and a calm presence.

If your teen is struggling with math-or just needs the right support to build confidence...I’d love to help.
